ASSAOLAM-O-ALAIKUM!

The Kashmir Diaspora Alliance would like to wish everyone a very blessed and Happy New Year! The fact is, just as throughout the world there is much hardship and oppression, throughout the year there are many difficulties that we face in our day to day lives. But God willing, we have been blessed with yet another New Year of life. We ask God to make this year one of success not just by words but also we intend to bring it about through small thoughtful efforts. Within this New Year we can reflect on the positive changes we will make in our own lives and on others. As well, we can also reflect on the mistakes that we have made in the past so as to reprimand them.

What is important to recognize is that today most of the problems facing the Muslims all over the world have been self-created. Today we fight one another based on the artificial regionalism for instance Kashmiri, Pahari, Sindhi, Pothwari, and Punjabi etcetera that have been created by man, but we fail to see the bond we share as brothers and sisters in Islam. It is also condemnable to hate anyone on the basis of artificial sects (such as Shia, Sunni, and Wahabi etcetera which has no mention in Holly Qur’an), and religion for that matter. Most of all though, regardless of our past, we should be thankful for the life that we have been given, and we should strive to live it the way it should be; with thankfulness, kindheartedness, with love, and with the knowledge and understanding that life is temporary. Happy New Year and May God Bless you all.
