MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE:

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE KASHMIR DIASPORA ALLIANCE:
HABIB YOUSAFZAI

The Kashmir Diaspora Alliance would like to wish a Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all of humanity regardless of religion, caste, place of birth, colour, creed, or language. Although Jesus Christ has great significance in the Christian religion, his significance cannot be undermined in all other universal religions especially Islam where he is Isa (Jesus) Alaisalam, a prophet of God. More importantly however, the Kashmir Diaspora alliance would like to assert that whether we give Jesus Christ religious significance or not, we can all appreciate his beautiful message of love, peace, harmony, and sacrifice for others. It is not merely enough to accept or wish others a Merry Christmas, rather, we should try to actively implement the teachings of the individual under whose name all these celebrations are taking place. Furthermore, it must also be understood that Isa (Jesus) Alaisalam stood for individual sacrifice for the collective good. Thus, given that grave atrocities are being committed universally every day, we should make conscious efforts to sacrifice our self constricted and selfish immediate interests for the well being of humanity. This can come through simply raising awareness for the oppressed by sacrificing ones time or giving a friendly smile even if we are not having the greatest of days. Therefore, the Kashmir Diaspora Alliance would once again like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, good health, and push for the implementation of our beloved Jesus Christ who professed the message of love, peace, harmony, respect, and sacrifice.
